Atlantic Canada’s capital investment potential is at an all time high.

There are two key factors driving major projects in Atlantic Canada.

Green investments in hydrogen, renewable energy and industry modernization are driving spending.

Population growth is leading to a surge in housing, health care, education and supporting infrastructure investment.

All four provinces in the region had strong growth in investment spending on major projects in 2023 and that growth continues into 2024. Our Building Atlantic Canada conference is the place to learn about the projects shaping our future, meet the people behind them, and engage in discussion on how we can best invest in our region.

This year our conference will be delivered in two components:

> One webinar. The Council’s Director of Major Projects will share the key details of the investment outlook for all four Atlantic provinces and what is driving capital investment, based upon our Major Projects Inventory. You won’t want to miss this session. You’ll get the key facts and the big picture on the investment climate for your province to support your business planning. This webinar is only accessible if you register for an in-person session.

> Three in-person events held across the Atlantic region, each focused on one province, will explore the key takeaways from this year’s investment outlook. Guest speakers will also delve into the details behind their projects and share new approaches and ideas to build Atlantic Canada’s future. Join us to hear from leading project proponents and connect with other business, community, and government leaders in your province.

About the Major Projects Inventory

The Atlantic Economic Council’s Major Projects Inventory (MPI) is one of our key resources, available only to members. This annual spring publication lists key details for all the large capital investment projects underway or proposed in each of the four Atlantic provinces. A major project is defined as any capital project valued at $25 million or more ($10 million or more in Prince Edward Island) that adds to the capital stock of the region.

The MPI is a key resource for investment trends, business planning, and project leads. Developed through a combination of research and information collected directly from the region’s largest project proponents, the MPI is not available from any other source.

The Major Projects Inventory (MPI) is available ONLY to our members. Sign up here to become a member and gain access to the MPI mapping tool, our other member-only publications on the Atlantic economy, and benefit from discounted conference rates.
