Atlantic Canada’s health care system faces ongoing performance challenges, particularly in transforming inputs into outputs (efficiency) and outcomes (effectiveness). Despite having higher health spending, infrastructure and workforce compared to the rest of Canada, research indicates this does not consistently translate into improved health outcomes.
