Major Projects Researcher (Contract / Hybrid) The Atlantic Economic Council is an independent, non-profit research organization focused on providing insights and information that foster a healthy economy for Atlantic Canada. We collect and analyze data that can help businesses and policy makers make informed decisions to be successful, manage risk, create opportunities and plan for the future.
The Major Project Researcher is responsible for collecting primary data and information from companies and government departments across Atlantic Canada to update our Major Projects Inventory, which will be released to our members and key stakeholders in Spring 2026. Data is collected through direct communication with stakeholders involved in the region’s largest projects through a variety of direct communication tools and online research to identify potential projects. This position provides an exciting, fulfilling opportunity for hands-on applied research experience in a business setting, engagement with key stakeholders across the region and enhanced insight into the key industries driving the Atlantic economy.
Qualifications – the applicant should have:
Staff are based in our downtown Halifax office 2 days a week, working at home 3 days a week. The candidate must have access to a reliable personal computer, internet, and the ability to videoconference. Duration: The position is for 12 weeks (35 hours per week) starting February 23rd.
