Atlantic Canadians are living longer but their physical health is worse off than elsewhere in the country. Fewer than half of Atlantic Canadians rated their health positively in 2023, compared to 52% nationally.

This report, the second in in our Future of Health Care in Atlantic Canada research series,  provides a comprehensive assessment of health outcomes in Atlantic Canada compared to national trends. We look at the key risk factors driving the region’s health outcomes, the costs associated and the resulting economic burden of poor health.
