Lori Clark President & CEO, NB Power
Lori was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in July 2022 and Chief Nuclear Officer in September 2023. Prior to this, she held various roles of increasing responsibility with NB Power including Senior Vice President - Operations, Vice President - Regulatory Affairs and Strategic Initiatives, Executive Director - Human Resources, and Managing Director – Finance. Lori also has extensive experience with the utility’s rate application and hearing process, appearing as a witness for NB Power at several rate hearings. She has spent considerable time at NB Power’s nuclear plant, Point Lepreau, helping the plant chart and execute its path to excellence.

Lori’s career path at NB Power is a testament to her strong leadership abilities, her strength of character and her tenacity. She prides herself in being open, honest, transparent, and authentic. As a leader she has high standards, drives accountability and is seen as firm but fair. Lori holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of New Brunswick and is a Chartered Professional Accountant. She has also studied Nuclear Reactor Technology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Leadership at the Wharton School of Business. She is the first female to hold the position of President and CEO in NB Power’s 100+ year history and the first female to be named CNO. In addition, she is the first female to be named CEO of a utility with a nuclear plant in its fleet in Canada. In her spare time Lori enjoys reading, travelling, and spending time with her family and her yellow lab, Murphy.



Peter Gregg President & CEO, Nova Scotia Power
Peter Gregg is President & CEO of Nova Scotia Power. In his role, Peter is focused on planning for Nova Scotia’s clean energy future while overseeing the delivery of safe, reliable electricity to customers across the province.

Peter is an experienced leader in the Canadian energy sector. Prior to his role at NS Power, Peter most recently served as the President & CEO of the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), where he oversaw the operation of Ontario’s bulk electricity system. He was also President & CEO of Enersource from 2014 to 2016, where he was integral in the merger of four of Ontario’s largest local distribution companies to create Alectra Inc., the second largest municipally owned utility in North America.

Peter also served as COO at Hydro One Networks, overseeing energy transmission and distribution across Ontario.Throughout his career, Peter has been recognized for his leadership abilities, and in 2015 and 2016 received the Ontario Energy Association’s Leader of the Year Award. Peter is a member of the Electricity Subsector Coordinating Council, a physical and cyber security collaboration between the electricity sector and the governments of Canada and the United States. He is also a member of the Canadian Electricity Association Board of Directors. Peter received a Master of Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at University of Western Ontario and holds the Institute of Corporate Directors ICD.D (Certified Director) designation.


Gary Murray President & CEONewfoundland Power Inc. 
Gary Murray is President and Chief Executive Officer of Newfoundland Power Inc. Newfoundland Power employs over 650 people and serves approximately 276,000 customers throughout the island portion of Newfoundland and Labrador. Gary joined Newfoundland Power in 2002, and has been a member of the Executive Team for ten years. Prior to becoming President and CEO in 2020, he was Vice President, Customer Operations.

Gary has extensive engineering and utility experience within North America. Over his career, he has gained a comprehensive understanding of the provincial electricity system and in depth industry knowledge. Before joining Newfoundland Power, he worked in the offshore oil and gas and hydroelectric industries. Gary holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Memorial University and was inducted as a Fellow of Engineers Canada in 2019. Gary serves on the Board of Directors of Newfoundland Power, Maritime Electric, Fortis Belize, Electricity Canada and is Chair of the Board of the Cancer Care Foundation Newfoundland and Labrador. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador. Gary has been instrumental in building a safe and inclusive culture that is focused on customer service excellence, operational efficiency, sustainability and innovative thinking. 


Jason Roberts President & CEOMaritime Electric 
Jason Roberts is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Maritime Electric Company, Limited employing 185 people and serving approximately 83,000 customers throughout Prince Edward Island. Jason holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours (Co-Operative) from Memorial University of Newfoundland and in 1996 successfully attained his Chartered Accountant (CPA) designation. Over the last 23 years Jason has worked in Atlantic Canada in the manufacturing and utility industries in the areas of utility regulation, tax and finance.

In 2000, Jason joined Maritime Electric as the Supervisor, Treasury and was promoted to Director, Regulatory and Financial Planning in 2006. Jason was appointed Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer in 2017 until his appointment as President and Chief Executive Officer in August 2020. Jason is currently a member of the Junior Achievement PEI Business Hall of Fame Board of Governors. He previously served on the Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Carleton-York (NB) and the United Way of PEI, acting primarily in the capacity of treasurer or finance committee member. Jason was also involved with the Heart and Stroke Foundation as Board member and Chair of the PEI Foundation as well as a member of the National Volunteer Engagement Strategy Committee. Jason and his wife Angela have two sons, Matthew and Jack and reside in Suffolk.


Lana Asaff | Senior Economist, Atlantic Economic Council 
Lana is a Senior Economist at the Council and is leading our net-zero research. Previously, she held positions with the provincial government at the Nova Scotia Department of Finance and Treasury Board, as well as with the federal government at Finance Canada and the Canada Revenue Agency.

Lana is President of the Atlantic Association of Applied Economists. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Economics from Saint Mary’s University and a Master of Arts in Economics from Queen’s University.

David Chaundy is President and CEO of the Atlantic Economic Council. David has over twenty years experience researching Atlantic Canada’s economy, sharing his insights and ideas in numerous publications and presentations to business, government and other stakeholders. As someone who lives and works in the region, he is keen to ensure a healthy, inclusive and sustainable Atlantic Canadian economy. And he is passionate about the Council's vital role as the source for independent research, insights and ideas to advance these outcomes.
